India-based EIH Limited, the holding company of the iconic Oberoi hotels, announced its foray into the wellness hospitality space through a strategic partnership with Bhartiya Group. The partnership is to develop 20 wellness-focused ultra-luxury resorts across India and select international destinations.
The collaboration marks a significant diversification for The Oberoi Group as it seeks to tap into the rapidly growing global wellness tourism market through a management-led expansion strategy.

The first phase of the partnership will see the development of three resorts in India – in Coorg, Kabini and Hampi, with all properties expected to open by 2030. Over the longer term, the partners aim to build a portfolio of 20 resorts centred on wellness, experiential travel and longer-stay leisure demand.
The resorts will feature expansive gardens, indoor-outdoor living spaces and curated wellness offerings centred on what the partners describe as “joyful wellness”, including mindful dining, restorative therapies and holistic wellbeing experiences.
Snehdeep Aggarwal, Founder and Chairman of Bhartiya Group, said the partnership aims to create “blue zones”, destinations that go beyond traditional hospitality, offering a space for guests to surrender, nourish and evolve.
Arjun Oberoi, Executive Chairman of The Oberoi Group, emphasised the central role of design in shaping the guest experience, noting that immersive gardens and thoughtfully articulated spaces will sit at the heart of each resort, with architecture and landscape working together to create environments that are both restorative and inspiring.
The move comes amid growing global demand for wellness-focused travel, positioning The Oberoi Group to capture a larger share of this expanding segment through its new partnership with Bhartiya Group.
