Hospitality giant Marriott International and Therme Group, the Vienna-headquartered wellness facility operator, announced a strategic alliance to explore initiatives on incorporating well-being into travel and hospitality.

Therme will collaborate with the Marriott Design Lab, which serves as Marriott’s research and development hub. The tie-up envisages the two collaborating on a series of priority areas spanning customer experience, design innovation, wellness research and future global development opportunities.
According to the announcement, initial efforts will focus on introducing Therme to Marriott Bonvoy members, such as through travel and lodging packages connected to Therme destinations.
Peggy Roe, EVP and chief customer officer at Marriott International, said some of the most memorable travel experiences are the ones that change how one feels. “Today’s guests are looking for experiences that help them slow down, recharge and reconnect, making well-being an increasingly important part of the journey,” Roe said.
Therme will contribute its expertise in large-scale well-being environments to help reimagining of Marriott’s hotel amenities – from spas and fitness to guestroom concepts.
Well-being has become a defining dimension of the travel and hospitality experience, said Robert Hanea, president and CEO of Therme Group.
“Over the past two decades, Therme has developed a distinctive approach that brings well-being, nature and social connection together at scale,” he said.
Hanea said the partnership with Marriott was an exciting opportunity to bring Therme’s complementary strengths together as the two organizations explore new ways to shape the intersection of hospitality and well-being.
