Mandarin Oriental announced roping in champion gymnast Simone Biles as the brand’s first global wellness ambassador.
The luxury hotel company said tapping Biles for the role is part of its plan to be a global authority on wellbeing and reflects Mandarin Oriental’s belief that “true wellness is the integration of physical strength, mental health, recovery and balance”.
The Ohio, US-born Biles, is the most decorated gymnast in history with 11 Olympic medals and 30 World Championship medals.

As global wellness ambassador, Biles will share her insights with Mandarin Oriental’s wellness board and develop wellness initiatives, along with participating in global storytelling. “I’m excited to partner with Mandarin Oriental because we share the same belief that wellness is about more than physical performance — it’s about taking care of your whole self,” Biles said, according to a media release. “Throughout my career, I’ve learned how important recovery, mental wellbeing and balance are,” Biles said.
Biles made her debut in the role at Mandarin Oriental’s hotel in Milan, which is now offering two experiences inspired by Biles through the end of March: The Double-Double Glow, a massage and facial, and the “Champion Chip” cookie, which is inspired by Biles’ approach to balancing nourishment and enjoyment.
“This partnership represents a new era in how we engage with talent, moving beyond endorsement to genuine collaboration,” said Mandarin Oriental chief brand and marketing officer Alex Schellenberger. “Simone brings credibility, lived experience and global influence to our wellness philosophy. We are excited to elevate the conversation around holistic wellbeing and craft experiences that inspire balance, resilience and purpose.” Schellenberger said.
